Subjects can be important and real or utter nonsense. Mostly I'll be the one spouting off, but look for occasional guest editorials and visuals from comic writers, artists, novelists, friends and acquaintances. At least that's the idea. This space is for thought. Or not.

The heroes of the twenty-two-page worlds we call comics always seem to be fighting AGAINST. Against crime. Against some nefarious threat to the world. or the universe. or----reality itself. It's rare that we encounter heroes who fight FOR. Heroes who we know stand for something--something greater than themselves. Heroes who're struggling to defend something that truly does need to be defended-- and can be defended. I wish Cap were real, here and now. not only to protect America... but to defend the American dream.
